A disposable absorbent article comprising: a mechanical fastening system comprising first and second opposing surfaces, a web, and at least one engaging member joined to the web; and a frangible bonding agent disposed on a first portion of the first surface of the fastening system; wherein the engaging member includes a plurality of engaging elements and the web includes a plurality of receiving elements that are engageable with the engaging elements; wherein the frangible bonding agent is a fugitive hot-melt adhesive that is disposed on and crystallizes on one or more of the receiving elements and comprises a high melt point wax and a low melt point wax.
